"please don't stop the music..."
Homecoming was a blast...so much fun. The only thing that gets to me is all the grinding. It would be so much more fun if our dances played just techno, jazz or swing and everyone just danced normally. Cooper and I still had an awesome time. We got our groove on without a doubt.
Today is moving so slowly. I am super tired and my brain feels like it is not functioning properly. Great timing because I have an AP chem test tomorrow. My teacher was so kind in considering the fact that this weekend was homecoming. Right now caffeine is my best friend.

Homecoming Week is on
Wow...this weekend is completely gonzo. Homecoming week has officially started with the annual town window painting. The theme for homecoming this year is Dr. Seuss and personally I think the tennis team window is the best, but that's just me. Umm, I really didn't do anything crafty or artsy this weekend which was kind of sad, but I went to the football game on Friday night and was pretty social the rest of the weekend. This week is going to be very exciting and full of festivities so I don't think anything crafty will be going on.
Thank you to everyone who helped me decide on the last post. I am going to go with the flats without straps...you all can see the whole dress when I post pictures from the dance on Saturday.
Your task this week is to make up for my lack of creating and make some cool stuff. Link it up in the comments section. I would love to see what you are up to.

need more time
I can not believe this weekend is already over. Major bummer, but all good things have an end. I made some stuff. That was fun. One of the girls I babysit turned six. She is hilarious. I made her a little quiltlet with a picture from this summer when we all ate popsicles together.
It makes me feel like I am growing up too. She wasn't even born when I started babysitting her older sisters. It's funny to think about. I know I am not old, but I went out to dinner with friends on Friday to celebrate one of their 17th birthdays and an older girl said she cried when she turned 17 because she felt so old. I thought it was weird, but she said it was because she realized that she only had three more years left as a teenager. I don't know how I will feel when I hit 17, but I don't think it will be too depressing. haha.
I made these pages for a mini for my collection of fortunes. I sandwiched pages from the Ikea catalog with pages from Anthropologie catalogs. It is not done yet, but another one of those "in progress" projects.
I listened to the "J" block of my iPod this weekend. I realized that a lot of the "J" guys have a similar soothing sound. All around good music I would say.

the happenings of third hour study hall
(these pictures are super old, but I just got the disposable camera developed. i love my pups. the third guy is not pictured....he acts more like a cat and stays away from the water.)
{written on notebook paper in my study hall today. room C154. 10:22 am. 3rd hour. mrs. buttle}
Hello everyone. Happy FRIDAY!!!!!! I am in such a good mood right now it is not even funny. I have some really really really big/amazing news, but I don't think I can say anything now. It is borderline bigger than my grandma's Buick news...just kidding, my grandma doesn't even have a Buick, but I just like saying that anyway. So yeah, I have big news, but I am not going to tell you about it right now...sorry. I will sometime. Hopefully soon. Ugh, it is sooooo cool though.
So Mrs. Buttle is sitting at her desk tallying up ALL the homecoming king and queen nominations. Looks like so much fun. Everyone is pretty antsy because it is Friday. Let me just say that it seems like this study hall is lacking the study part right now. haha. My friend is drawing a picture and making weird faces at me from across the room.
Okay, that last paragraph was really unnecessary and you could all care less, but you know what? It's Friday and I am sooooooooo excited right now that I cannot contain myself. Oh and I just found out I aced my AP English in-class essay from Wednesday! Woot woot!
The bell is about to ring. History next hour....what a joy. Have a good weekend! I hope it's a crafty one!

catch up
my fortune from Saturday...I went to my friend's youth group the next day. it was unusual in a good way...something new. I liked it a lot. I felt so welcome.
Updated the Etsy shop on Sunday with some more quiltlets. I listed four and now there is only one left! A good friend bought one, then the uber talented Debra Gabel got one, and so did the fabulous Pokey Bolton (editor of Quilting Arts magazine)! It was very exciting! I also listed a baby quilt I finished up.
Sorry this post is kinda lame...I am sleep deprived and my to do list is growing.
Rachel's second art journal class started...I can't wait to start that this weekend, mayhaps.

"let it rain, let it pour" --Ok Go
It seriously has not stopped raining since I woke up at 5:30 this morning to work out. Originally I was going to go for a run, but I changed my plans...heard the rain outside, shut the alarm off and woke up a half hour later. School was a blur...after school was an even bigger blur. I was productive though. I finished my homework and finished all 8 of my "Opportunity" quiltlets!!!!
I will let you know when they go in the shop, but for now I have this song stuck in my head on this never-ending rainy day. I am going to go curl up with Twilight and the iPod.

the weekend update
Tutorial number seven for rachel's art journal class...used an anthro page on the back of the page before this one (first picture above)
I got not one, not two, but three fortunes in my cookie on Saturday...is that considered extra lucky?
mirror self portrait. you can see my room. Anthro initial letters above my bed along with an old green clock that doesn't work. bed spread made by my mom...I am still working on my new Amy Butler one.
the pile next to my bed...teen vogue issues, artful blogging, a bible, and the latest addition...Twilight.

we had our tennis team car wash on Sunday...we made the freshman girls hold the signs and awkwardly stand by the cars during a red light. someone brought their iPod and I am sad to say this, but we played the Jonas Brothers and yes everyone knew all the words and sang along...I will confess, I was anti-Jonas, but their song "Burnin' Up" has grown on me and I catch myself humming it sometimes.
this is Stella...the 9 week old puppy of one of the girls on the team. super cute. she loved the water.
last, the quiltlets...i have eight that are almost done. i hope to have them in the shop later this week. for now you can peek at the doors with the cute buttons i picked out. i also finished off a baby quilt that will also go into the shop.
i hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend!
